ORIENTATION DAY : On 12 Sept 2021, the department welcomed the new batch into the political ensemble in an online programme amidst the covid pandemic. The possibilities of producing a research paper in Symposium had everyone pumped up with enthusiasm but it was nowhere near the eagerness that came with the disclosure of the plan for organizing the department's first annual fest “Exordium: A Political Discourse”. The plan for coming up with the first edition of Janmat, the department’s magazine, was also disclosed to the students. The program ended with Dr. Meeta Sharma, head of the department addressing the students and inviting them to take the next three years as the most creative and challenging years of their lives. The program was a vitalizing start for a demanding yet fun filled college life.

STUDENT EXCHANGE PROGRAM

The department takes pride in conducting the Student Exchange program with different colleges in India. It is a great opportunity for the students of the department to get wider exposure of learning and acquires practical knowledge of the subject with the extensive activities. Places like:-

RESEARCH 

The department emphasizes on the research work intensively to be performed by the students especially in primary field. Department encourages the students in every way possible to learn the meaning and methodology of research that helps them choose their research problem, research area, research target for primary survey as well as book review and analysis of the responses. Henceforth they are helped every way possible to finish research work on relevant topics and its publication.

EXTENSION ACTIVITIES

Faculty and students of the department are encouraged to participate in collaboration with other departments in carrying out social outreach programs. Information regarding these programs is disseminated through notices by the Heads of Departments. Department appreciates the active participation of students under the guidance of faculty by providing the students a broader approach of learning. Students are encouraged to help in technical committees in all events either inter-collegiate or inter-state. They are as follows: -

INNOVATIVE PRACTICES

The Department of Political Science has an objective of recognizing the creative aptitude of students in the areas of learning and research.

The department tends to promote innovations in the field of education, ability of event administration by using technology for efficient delivery of a sound technological ecosystem and increasing educational output. The department consists of three important components; recognition of innovation through awards; documentation of innovations; and dissemination of innovations though publication.

Some of the practices undertaken by the department to ensure maximum digital learning includes the following: 

DEPARTMENT FEST: 

Fest is a healthy way to assess the ability and skills of students in various fields. Department students fashion various academic events relevant to political science and design eye-catching posters and conduct them on their own with a disciplined manner that proliferates their learning in the same.

  • EXORDIUM- A Political Discourse

EXORDIUM- A Political Discourse that develops leadership and elocution qualities among students on various themes. Students not only participate but also design and conduct various events. They excel in academic understanding of the events and technical preparation of the same which is a very proud factor of learning for social science students.

DEPARTMENT MAGAZINE


‘JANMAT’ 


The Department of Political Science, St. Xavier's College, Jaipur has released the very first edition of their Departmental Magazine called, ‘Janmat’ in 2021. It is a collection of the ideas of students on politics, society and life in the form of research articles, prose, poetry, art and photography. It also offers a detailed account of department activities and annual fest ‘Exordium’.  It is a symbol of the student’s unity, coordination and cooperation along with their talent and hard work.

ANNUAL PICNIC

The Department of Economics and Political Science organized a one day picnic to Lohagarh Resort, Kukas Jaipur on 22 August 2019(Thursday). The day had a lot in store for us as we entered the spot food delicacies were being served. The day became more spirited with sports like trekking, cricket, football, billiards, table tennis and badminton and at the end there was the magic show that was filled with tricks and mysteries. Most of the afternoon was spent dancing, and clicking pictures of the beautiful location. The picnic became a memorable event for everybody as they rejoiced and made new friends.
