EXORDIUM- VELEDICTORY CEREMONY

  The three day Fest “Exordium- A Political Discourse 2021” was organized by the Department of Political Science of St. Xavier’s College, Jaipur on 3 rd , 4 th and 5 th February, 2021. This virtual event commenced on 3 rd February in the presence of Jesuit fathers, esteemed guests, faculty members and participants. Rev Fr Varkey Perekatt SJ, Manager extended his blessings for all the participants and highlighted the importance of such academic events for the overall development of the youth.  In his welcome address Rev Fr Dr A Rex Angelo SJ, Principal appreciated the theme and emphasizedupon the requirement of research in higher education that is only possible by encouraging the students through such events.  The Fest began with “Roll on the Mic” a talk show on the theme “Investigating Realities in Social Sciences: Methodologies and Concerns ” during which a panel discussion with experts Dr Amrita Shilpi and Dr SmitaTiwary from Delhi University and Mr Rahul Pawa, NCPCR, New Delhi. SYMPOSIUM-21

The Department of Political Science of St. Xavier’s College, Jaipur organized National Symposium on 5 th February, 2021 from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm. The core theme of the event was “Revisiting the Dimensions of Federalism in India”. We also received participants from across the oceans; from Nepal, Uganda, Zambia, Kyrgyzstan, etc.   Participants from various universities and colleges presented their papers on themes like fiscal federalism, regionalism, legal precedents, role of governor, co-operative federalism, etc. Dynamic perspectives, opinions and conclusions were shared. Ms Surabhi Gupta was the honorable guest of the event. She was vibrantly impressed by the sheer amount of knowledge shared. Furthermore, she stressed upon the fact that via this event she witnessed the celebration of knowledge.  

VOICE OF THE ELECTED

St. Xavier's college, Jaipur organized 'Voice of the elected' an academic simulation of Lok Sabha on 4 th of February. It was a 2-hour event. The event included 30 participants and each one of them was allotted one portfolio. A proposed bill on ‘One Nation, One Election’ was already given to the participants. They were evaluated on several grounds, including, maintaining decorum, observance of parliamentary procedures, the subject of questions put forward and the answers there of, the delivery of the speech, standards of debate, and overall performance. Apart from this adherence to the ideology of the allotted political party and the use of chits were also given weightage for the final evaluation. This opportunity helped the participants in developing opinions on current public issues, respect, and tolerance for the views of others, apart from giving insight into the working of Lok Sabha.

EXORDIUM: a political discourse" is a brand-new initiative filled with hope and aims of striving for more, the students and faculty members of the Department of political science, St. Xavier's College, Jaipur aims to assemble and forge a Dais where all political views and opinions can find a place, where the youth of our country can speak their minds all the while gaining new experiences and acquiring knowledge from people coming from different parts of this vast nation. Views in parley was not only the most Interactive but also the most enticing event of "EXORDIUM", it was based upon the concept of creating a platform for open debate where the participants can put forth their arguments in a free and unrestricted manner, however they had to abide by the real-life opinions and thoughts of the personality allotted to them. SURVEIL: SURPASS THE VEIL

  Surveil: Surpass the Veil which was a short film making event of the fest organized by Department of Political Science by the name-“Exordium: A Political Discourse” and the idea behind short film making event was that it  portrayed the recent problems related to social science which have happened in the world while encouraging young student filmmakers to portray their talents in narrative storytelling and aesthetic treatment of subjects of great importance to the world of social sciences. Moreover, they were to be put forward in creative ways through film and it would be the easiest way to bring solutions to the problems with powerful stories.

DRAW YOUR DESIGN

  Exordium: A Political Discourse - brought forth its rendition to all the art lovers & deep thinkers in the form of 'Draw Your Design' since 'Art washes away from our soul, the dust of everyday life' as articulated by Pablo Picasso.  It was the one concourse that brought together artists and writers, as they delved deeper into the land of artwork, creative writing and poetry. The theme was announced on the spot and all the participants had to work accordingly, with their video cameras switched on for the first few minutes. There was also a melodious performance by Harshit Maharishi that added a rhythmic touch to the magical gathering.   The esteemed judge of the event, Ms Devika Mathur happened to be an impeccable poetess who was keen on sharing her experience and knowledge of words. It was indeed very insightful for the budding artists and creative thinkers of tomorrow, to stay on their path and nurture their attachment to art.     The event Draw your Design gave

DARE TO STAR

St. Xavier’s college, Jaipur on 'date' organized an event 'Dare to star' via as part of 'Exordium: a political discourse', which was held from 3rd to 5th of February 2021. In this event, participants designed drafts for revolutions, which included the scenario in which the revolution would take place and what would be its outcome. This event focused on and harnessed the critical evaluation skills of the participates. The students were free to employ any method to convince the judges of the effectiveness of their revolution. It was a 2-hour event. And participates could present their ideas as units (individual or team). Ideas from each unit were judged based on two criteria: firstly, the presentation of the revolution which carried 40 points, and secondly the scenario in which the revolution would take place which carried 10 points; summing up to a total of 50 points. Units were free to present their revolution by any creative means, like ppts, skits, etc., for w
